Edinburgh Summer Sessions '18: In Numbers


Edinburgh Summer Sessions took place from 6-18 August 2018, taking over Princes Street Gardens with 5 huge live music shows on the site of the Ross bandstand. Big Hand Events were involved from the outset, project managing the event in advance, and also acting as event management on the day of the shows.

With artists including Tom Jones, Bastille, The Vaccines, Rag ‘N’ Bone Man, Paloma Faith and Kasabian and Brian Wilson headlining the shows, we unpack the numbers that made up this years event!

THE STARS OF THE SHOW

  • Almost 30,000 fans

  • 5 British headliners

  • 162 songs performed

  • 1 x golf buggy

  • 1 x seamstress

EVENT LOGISTICS

  • 80 portable toilets

  • 148,400 ft of toilet paper

  • 50 litres of hand wash

  • 2,592 bottles of water for staff & crew

  • 4,400m of scaffolding

  • 1,100m of gaffe tape

  • 18,000 cable ties

  • 120 pieces of bespoke signage

STAGING

  • 184 bulbs onstage

  • 1,000m+ of festoon lighting

  • 300 bungee cords

HOSPITALITY

  • 160 litres of ketchup

  • 2 giant deck chairs
