Barr-head to toe in colour!

Writer: Andy DunlopAndy Dunlop

BH Events were on duty to help turn Barrhead into a magical sea of colour on Saturday 10 June for the local business improvement district, all about Barrhead, hosting the first ever Barrhead Rainbow Run.

Around 1,000 participants took on the course over the course of the day, and the spirit of the runners was not dampened by the wet weather in the morning – if anything, they were encouraged by it!

BH Events also got McGill’s Buses in on the act, with their open top bus providing a free shuttle around the town to everyone on the day. Stephanie McInnes, who attended the event with her family said, “It was a fantastic day out. Our kids loved the open top bus – it was a great addition to the event.”

With Pulse FM keeping everyone entertained with music from the stage as they waited for their start time, local fitness instructors Lynne Hamilton, from Boogie Bounce, and Ashley Monaghan warmed everyone up, taking them through their paces with all manner of zumba, dancing and aerobics.

Once out on the course, runners made their way around the 2.5km loop, making their way through 5 'colour zones, getting covered in a vast array of neon powder paint by groups of ‘Paint Zone Commandos’ from various local groups.

Thanks to G4S, St. Andrew's First Aid, FMX Stage Services, Loo King and Hire Power Generators for their service on the day.
