2019 - A Look Back: Part Two

Following on from yesterday's blog, we'll complete our 2019 roundup from BH HQ:

August 2019

August, as we are now used to is spent in Edinburgh, where we are responsible for all operational aspects of the Edinburgh Summer Sessions festival in Princes Street Gardens. 2019 saw headline performances from Florence + the Machine, Primal Scream, CHVRCHES, Lewis Capaldi, James, Courteeners and Madness.

The event is not without it's challenges - as is Edinburgh in August, but this year the weather gave

us an unexpected one, as we had to pump over 50,000 litres of water off the site to keep our pathways, entrances and exits open!

September/October 2019

We didn't have many 'events' as such in September, but that was mainly down to an event of our own, as BH Events director, And and secretary, Jenny tied the knot! The ceremony took place at the University of Glasgow Chapel, before a fantastic reception at the iconic Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow! We took most of October off to enjoy married life and take in a Honeymoon too!

November 2019

We were straight back into events in November, with live shows with thee Rifles, Michael Monroe, James Morrison, Freya Ridings, Lighthouse Family, Airbourne, finishing off with a double header with Rex Orange County at the Barrowland Ballroom - possibly the second best event to take place in the venue that year!

November is also 'Christmas-time' at BH HQ, with at least two Christmas Lights Switch-On events, among others. First up this year was Clarkston, which broke every attendance record we had, closely followed by Barrhead a couple of weeks later which was another huge success - and we even managed a visit from the Grinch himself!

December 2019

We finished up the year with some more live music shows, including a UK Tour with J.I.D - no doubt set to be one of the hottest rap acts in the world. We decided this year, for once, to take off New Year and enjoy it at home with the family!

With 2020 gearing up to be our busiest year yet, this might be our only chance for a break!
